Happ .45's on a Sammy gun game ?

Works perfect. I just did the same thing on my Deer Hunting. There's even a dipswitch... If you rewire a IT gun it'll work too, although I couldn't get the pump to work right, so I just made it work without a pump.

Oh and btw, you may NOT have to rewire the 45. Look at the wiring diagram, I think it'll plug right in.

I think I've heard of it being done before, but I don't know if there's a replacement for cocking the gun with those.. like I'm not 100% sure if there's a setting (like on Carnevil for instance) where you can shoot off-screen to reload.

I think it's set to shoot off screen now if i remember right. I think I am going to mount some holsters and cover those ovals with speaker grills. The game is a Ranger Mission.

It may be different on Ranger Mission, on my Deer Hunting there was a dipswitch to turn the pump off, and you just have a certain number of shots.

I wish I would have seen this thread, I have a Ranger Mission. In the options for the game, you can choose from about 4 different gun setups to accommodate all styles of guns and reload options, including auto reload.

Should the happ 45 guns work properly on sammy deer hunting game? I connected two guns in a lethal enforcers cabinet with the deer hunting game. Everything works but the guns don't fire at all at where I am pointing. It just fires at the center of the screen.
I put he deer pcb in a sf2:ce just to check out another cabinet and player 1 button 3 shoots at the same center of screen.

Can anyone help??

I may be wrong, but I thought the Lethal Enforcers guns were not pinned out like the standard happ .45s ? Dig up a pinout for the lethal enforcers guns, and make sure it matches what you are plugging it into.

EDIT: Ok, I was wrong, but you do have to make sure they are plugged in the right way. Catalog sheet said that if they are compatible, and if you are getting trigger action, its plugged in the right way. Perhaps the optic sensors on your gun are dead?

I would doublecheck your pinouts just in case rather than trust an amateur. ;)

There have to be links for this somewhere out there, as there are happ modifications for damn near every other gungame in existence.

Just a thought, but are you sure your guns are the Happ .45's ? or are they the Lethal Enforcer Revolvers?

They looked like happ guns. I looked closer and they are inscribed as betson imperials. They are hooked to a lethal enforcers 1 pcb/cab and work fine. Swap out to deer hunter and I can fire but it only hits the center.

For the record, it did just plug right in to the little circuit board. Works great.

Yea I was reading this and was going to say that the atomiswave setup they can plug right into. You do have a few limits with it though. Sports shooting USA and ranger mission both have the options in them to allow off screen reloading. In ranger mission it doesn't work quite as well for some of the missions where you have one shot devices and need to reload a lot(like the rockets stages). I want to say the same with throwing grenades where you have to reload each throw(I'm pretty sure you do but I could be wrong on this).

The other games for the system don't have the reload button on them. IE the extreme hunting 1 and 2 and the sega clay shooting games require the shotgun because you need a reload button(or so I've read).

I've always wanted to mod a standard happs gun with a reload button personally. Haven't looked into what that would take though.

This is an old topic, but I thought I would chime in. In my situation, I have a Street fighter setup with the 6 buttons and joystick, but I also installed two optical guns for shooting games like Police Trainer and the Sammy games. In games like Extreme Hunting that require a reload button, I've found that button 1 on the control panel will trigger reload. You can get used to shooting with the right hand and hitting button 1 to reload with the left hand. Not sure if there's an easier way other than buying the shotguns.
