Good evening everyone,

I need some help with a Hantarex Polo 25-inch monitor. I bought a spare monitor for my arcade. The problem with the chassis is vertical collapse. I replaced R167, which didn't look good and was very different.

When I turned the monitor on, the image was larger, I heard a whistling sound, and the monitor stopped.
When I measured the HOT it was shorted.
what did I do? I measured the diodes according to Randy From's diagram they are oke. I replaced C172, C174, and C175, and replaced the HOT transistor. I did the lamp test B+130 volts.
Then I turned the chassis back on, and it started ticking again.

Then I added another flyback that worked fine, with the same result ticking

At this point, I'm not sure where to look.

Any tips?

regards tim

If R167 was open or very high resistance, you may have a defective vertical integrated circuit, IC103. Defective electrolytic capacitors on the +27V power supply or +25V line to IC103 could cause this.
As for the HOT shorting after replacing R167, please check that there are not any solder splashes causing short circuits.

You need to lift one side of this resistor, attach bulb and meter to it and adjust the voltage to 145V (B+ for the European Polo is 145V). If you can't, there must be some problem in the power supply.

If you can, reconnect the resistor and keep bulb and meter attached to it (or to the cathode of D134 as in my pic, same thing). If there are no problems in the deflection circuit, you'll have this:

Good evening Richard,

thanks for you reply. i take a look at it.

i replaced today a other flyback that i'm sure that one works fine. same problem.
i also bypas the x ray circuit to see of the screen start no result still ticking

i mesure all power lines the are ok. but the chassis begin to click al power lines go down whit the b+

thanks for youre help m k l.
i just pulled some components of the board. i have next week time tos put them back yogether. i will adjust the B+ and let you know

regards tim

i put in the old tda in en did what M K L explained put the b+ to 145 Volt white the light bulb.
when i conect the chassis to the tube the hot blows whitin a 10 seconds
i swap the flyback again tot my good chassis and the flyback is good
where to look know ?
