I just picked up a "functionally challenged" Hantarex MTC 9000 monitor to replace a petrantic monitor I'm giving up on. The seller of the Hantarex was a guy that rebuilds arcade games and claims the monitor fired up, but had a shrunken picture and likely needs a cap kit. I agree that it likely needs to be re-capped, but want to fire it up to confirm functionality before I start tearing into it.

The first question I have is power - the power connector on this monitor is different than the other ones I have seen, and does not mate with the connector in the cabinet I'm trying to put it in - see pics attached. Can anyone ID these connectors so I can buy an adapter/replace one of the connectors?

Secondly, for short-term testing, I'm just going to hook power up with alligator clips or similar to verify functionality. I know the monitor needs to be on an isolation transformer - does the polarity of the power cord matter? I would have thought no, given the isolation transformer, but then why did they key the connectors?

Third, the board I'm trying to drive this with (Mortal Kombat) seems to output composite sync - should I hook that to HSYNC or VSYNC on the monitor, and does it need to be re-jumpered for composite (I did not see any reference in the manual)

Lastly, the control board has nifty little plastic "pegs" which fit into the pots to adjust them, but one is missing - any clue what they are called and where I can get a replacement?

Thanks!

So I've partially answered my questions:
1. The monitor has a Molex 19-09-2029 female power connector on it. The Cabinet had a Molex 03-09-1022 male connector on it
2. On an isolation transformer, polarity doesn't matter
3. From what I can tell, it sounds like it's supposed to go to Horizontal sync, but see below

So...on to the next three problems:
1. The cabinet (and the old monitor) video input connector was just 5 separate wires with larger female pins. Does anyone know what these are so I can find mating connectors? Also what is the connector called on this monitor?

2. The monitor, when I fired it up, just showed a shrunken (which I expected) white raster with retrace lines. I'm open to re-capping this monitor, but suspect that's not the only thing wrong with it - attached is a picture of what it looks like. Any thoughts?

The chassis I have seems to be the MTC 9110 (at least, it has the fan on it) - it looks like this (though this isn't actually my chassis) http://www.jomac.net.au/images/Chassis/Hantarex-MTC-9110.JPG

Also does anyone know if this monitor will take sync of either polarity? The manual mentions a sync polarity switch, but the switch isn't actually on the board for my monitor (silk-screen is there, but it's not populated)

2. On an isolation transformer, polarity doesn't matter

Thank you for this. I have several monitors I need to test that had the connectors cut off and I've been worried about this. Does kind of make you wonder why they have the plugs they have, though.
