Hangly Man-- anyone ever heard of this

its listed here on the kc cl as well i saw it but for 850 he better be fixing that bare wood on the cab and post up some better pics wtf is up with just pics of the sides is it a cocktal is it a upright lol

one of the local retailers has a maze man wich is a much rarer pac bootleg i think he is only asking like 450 500 and its in awsome shape (maze man is not dumped in mame either )

I remember one of these at the local 7-11 growing up.

It was in a Pac-Man cabinet with all the Pac-Man artwork intact, but it played Hangly Man. One maze was pretty normal except for a couple of odd turns and the next maze was a gridwork of dots with no walls. I think it had an alternate set of fruit too.

We didn't care. We played whatever they threw at us.

some arcades switched to this to keep you from using patterns.

i could get very far usually between 100000-200000 ,but could not rack it way up because

developing patterns was near impossible, at least for me...

the stray dots near the top and bottom tunels suck!

However; invisible maze was cool.

Notice the monster names are carried over from PUCK MAN if i recall.

I remember playing it a few times back in the day. The ones I saw were always in standard Pac-Man cabs and still had the Pac-Man marquee, but usually had a small sticker that said "modified" on the marquee. It has the regular fruit like Pac-Man, and the odd ghost names are the same as the original Namco Puckman. I can see why ops would like this version better, since it's not really patternable like regular Pac-Man, due to the lack of maze on the 3rd level.

In the Cleveland area, HanglyMan became pretty popular to combat the pattern playing. I hated it back in the day, as I was a pattern player, but still played it a couple of hundred times none the less. NewPuck-X (also called 'Deluxe') was also in a few locations, but not nearly as popular as HanglyMan. For the record, it was never made in a dedicated cabinet, or there is no dedicated boards. It was a rom hack where a couple chips were replaced to change the maze and the other characteristics of the game.

I picked up a nonworking pac-man a few weeks ago in Montana.I rebuilt the chassis and this is the game that came up.I'm not a pac fan but this version seems fun.

I have a board around here somewhere with hangley on it. Its just a rom swap on a regular pac board.
I would love to get my hands on a set of crazy otto roms, if anyone has the files :)

Love the game it was way to easy though. played for Hours on one quarter. played so long at closing time I had the owner of the place come over and break a broom over my back to make me stop playing. LOL great time. I will trade you Ms pacman roms and aux card for yours.... LMK.
