we've all seen the wear on the side of the cabs where everybody placed their hands while they played or others watched the person playing.

does anybody else make a concious effort to place your hands elsewhere while you play....( especially on restored or near mint cabs)....if playing my ms pac i'll put my arm up on the top edge of the marquee bracket or place my forearm on the t-molding at the top.

Not really, but I usually make my stuff functionally perfect and don't overdo the repair of old route battle scars. Thats how I remember them and I think it kind of shows character.

Kick ass, I'm the same way.
I've repainted really bad machines, but I prefer the look
of a cornershop gameroom, not a trophy case.
No offense to the cabinetry/cosmetics crowd.

It's already difficult for my fat ass it stand up at an upright after a while... I do what is comfortable.

Which is? Oh wait Frizz, lemme guess... Picture this, a nice comfy Lazy-Boy with a (insert game of your choice) next to your arm rest with a beer in the other hand. That's my visual on your comfort level there Frizz! :)

I don't like touching/hanging onto the sides of my Ms Pac, but thats only because the original paint is mysteriously still in decent shape.

One hand on the joystick and one hand on the button - wait, we're still talking about arcade games, right?

If I play a game with just a joystick (like Frogger), I usually rest my other hand on the control panel where a button might be....

Well said. I'm not getting any younger. I'm still wishing my RoadBlasters was a cockpit instead, and have even mildly considered building a seat for it (much like the Hard Drivin' upright has).

I have acually tried to rest free hands elsewhere (talking about Arcade games now, you perverts), it just dosent seem right. I like to play the game the exact same way I played it in the arcade 20+ years ago.
