I send an email asking about arcade cabinet ornaments for the heck of it. Here's their generic answer. We need to find a comments page not locked to blast like last year. I figured last year sent a message but I guess not!

Thank you for contacting Hallmark.

Product selection is largely determined by consumer demand for any particular type of product. We try to provide our consumers with the type of products they want, when they want them. Because we're interested in preserving the collectibility of the entire Keepsake Ornament line, each year we review our program and make changes/revisions going forward. Ornaments that have a recurring theme are issued each year (ideally) for a minimum of three years. Unfortunately, there will be times when a series will end. We're sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

We appreciate your taking the time to let us know your feelings.

Thanks,

I'm a big fan of the classic arcade ornaments you did a couple years ago. I was disappointed that you didn't release one last year and wanted to know if you are planning to do so this year or in the future? These are fantastic ornaments and there are hundreds of great cabinets that would make fantastic ornaments. You're still releasing Star Trek, Pooh, Barbie, and other franchises every year. You need to do the same with the arcade games. I know you have some Tron Legacy stuff, which I did buy, but that does not count! That's like saying "We don't have Star Wars this year just buy the Star Trek".

They were selling these ornaments for major discounts in their own stores when I bought mine. This tells me they probably didn't sell well.

If I were them, I wouldn't make any more, either. Petitions and requests aren't $$. Write them a check instead.

Unfortunately you are for the most part correct. However its hard for a company to start up a successful franchise without starting slower than their most popular. I bet the john deere tractors aren't a huge seller but they are established and level out to being a consistent revenue for them. And Yes I know there are crazy john deere collectors out there!
