I have a hall effect stick in my extra Road Runner control panel that is acting funny. First, going right moved the road runner left, moving it left moved RR right. It only moved up too.

I adjusted it so that it is dead on center and now it moves up/down, but right/left are reversed.

I did notice that the connector on the joystick was reversed...

Any ideas?

Has the PCB on the bottom of the joystick been worked on? The sensor might possibly be soldered in backwards.... If that's not it, it has something to do with the wiring/connections, most likely.

I've never seen this behavior before, though.

P.S. Anyone have spare Hall Effect sticks they don't need? I'm closing in on this reproduction item and I need at least one (more would be better) PCB from the bottom of the joystick.

The board on the stick was redesigned for each of the three games that used it. If you are going to repro the board, use the Escape From The Planet Of The Robot Monsters stick as a reference.

I already have the boards etched and all the components in stock. What I don't have are the small plastic mounting blocks. I need a small handful of them to work with to create an exact mold to reproduce them in QTY.

Here's the board type I made:

They're all ready to be populated... just need that one last part. :)

Send me one and I can test the joystick, then send it to you... :)
