Last Sunday I traded my PunchOut for a restored Paperboy (that I'm loving) and a klov'r helped both parties with transport and wouldn't even accept gas money (thanks again, Rich!)
Monday I found a PA guy who fixes XY monitors and offered to fix my Omega Race while I wait for cheap if I bring him the chassis (turns out it's his fave game and he has all 3 versions).
Wednesday, Sully's Berzerk (with original joy) and chuck's Gorf and Black Widow (Space Duel conversion) were delivered in great shape--ok, Black Widow ROCKS!! Love those Rocket Bugs!
Thursday, after mapping the electical in my house, I was able to run cords and power up all my games at once---with the blacklights, etc, it was almost enough to make a grown man cry! ....so...beautiful...<sniff>
Saturday, had a family picnic at the house and had all the games on. The pin was a fave of the old folks, the Cali Speed was also a hit, while Paperboy and the exidy multi were faves of my 20-something niece and nephews (who loved Clay pidgeon of all games). All the games worked great and none crapped out or had problems.
Then, Sunday, I picked up a cherry Space Duel within driving distance that has only 17K plays on the counter (12K on player 2)--seems to have factory wood grain sides, tho'--odd.
Weeks like this just don't come around often in this hobby, so I thought I'd share the love.
May the arcade gods smile on all of you as well.....
