I'm still working on my tempest mini restore and all I could find for a a control panel was this hacked one from another member.

Ideas for repair? I've epoxied a piece of metal on the underside before and bondo'd the top and sanded smooth to fill a hole. Not quite sure how to do the cone buttons? I'm not feeling bondo would hold up or even epoxy if there is a button being pushed there.

Also not sure what to do with the half good button since it has to be flat to mount the button holder.

Control panel / metal guru's grant me some knowledge

Weld or epoxy sheet metal to the holes you want to fill in on the back and fill in the front with bondo. The hard part is re-drilling the holes for the cone buttons. It's not too bad if you have a drill press but you might have to patch up the bondo again.

Find washers with the correct size center hole and weld into the cone button holes? Same thing for the extra hole near the bottom, but use a washer with a small hole. Less bondo to fill in a gap is better.

Washers, Welder and Grinder... or bring it to an auto body shop and pay them to washer, weld and grind it smooth. I have about 30 panels to do that to this summer. Wood panels are a bit easier to fix. Bondo and sand.

That looks very nice and clean! Good work! I drill new holes first, if needed, then I secure wood on the back, fill holes/openings with bondo/woodfiller, get everything smooth, then prime and sand until smoooth. Yours came out very nice.
