This past weekend, I took my sons to the Point Pleasant boarwalk in NJ. Just installed were a brand new pair of H2Overdrive machine. H2Overdrive is the "unofficial" update/sequel to Midway's Hydro Thunder. The game was released by Raw Thrills, and developed by Specular Interactive. Many members of the original Hydro Thunder design team were involved in the new title.

The game looks fantastic with a nice high-def panel. The game retains the look and feel of the original. Unfortunately I was only able to get a couple of games in, but the boats and tracks I played were great! I plan on going back this weekend.

Fans of the original, will probably enjoy this update.

ha i played it down the jersey shore last weekend too.
yeah its a nice machine. i liked the original, a lot.
but it felt like a playstation game, it had quirks with having
players join (everyone has a different timer, but the original
timer wins, and people can be left out of the race).

the handling and control over your boat is very difficult
compared to the original. i would try it again but somehow it
just doesn't have the playability factor of the Midway original.
