Gyruss, only 1/2 the sound is getting driven by an amp

Hi,
I picked up a gyruss and it plays great, except I'm only getting 1/2 the sound. I've replaced both amps but still only coming out one side. I've flipped the speaker connectors around and the sound then comes out the other side (ie: both speakers work). I can turn both the pots on the board and the pots on the door but no change on the left channel. I can place a jumper between the two amps to get all sounds to come out one speaker (but the drumbeat portion is not amplified). other than a pot on the board (i'm assuming it's not a door pot as those seem to only boost the sound a little and can't shut it off all the way on the right channel. Any suggestions on what else it could be so I can get full sound on this?

Also, I can't shut off attract mode eventhough I've thrown the proper dip switch to do so.

Appreciate any info on either issue.

Thanks,

Tom

Have you tested the wiring from the motherboard to the speaker connector for the left channel? My Gyruss had the same problem and it turned out to bs a flaky connection in the wiring from the motherboard to the speakers.

Is there a jumper on Gyruss to switch the audio between mono and stereo? Or am I thinking of a jumper on my Konami -> JAMMA adapter?

Yes, its right behind one of the amps. He said he already jumped that and all the sounds were coming out of the one channel...if I read it right.
I would put a meter on the two pots on the pcb. I have seen a few of these go bad in the past.
