Hey Group,

Picked up a Gyruss Mini last week and am unsure if it's "real". (pics to be posted tonight)

Anyway, the marquee is not the same as the UR, different graphic but it does match the color scheme of the control panel.

Boardset is a real Gyruss.

There are no tags on the inside of the cabinet

The monitor is a 19" Alcor (or something like that) that is dead and Free if anyone wants it (I'm in MA)

Does anyone know if this was available as a kit? Or if a Mini did exist?

Thanks

No mini. But they did make a conversion kit, which does have different artwork. I believe that you'll find that it says "Konami" and not "Centuri".

Yep, it's a mini. 19" monitor, 22" wide, 5' tall, all Gyruss.

:-D

And it's for sale. I'll post it in the For Sale section.

Thanks all!

i think it's a generic cabinet. I have 2 of them (one woodgrain i got from Rob Carroll)
I have another just like that with the gold t-molding that housed a bootleg DK jr.

Yeah, generic cab for bootlegs. There is rumored to be an actual gyruss mini, but pictures or the game have yet to surface. Todd at TNT has been looking for some time I believe...

I took a look at the marquee, and it's screen printed, doesn't look like it was a sticker.

Makes it uber-rare, right??

:-D

as far as we can know, no one has actually seen a dedicated mini...there were quite a few Centuri games that were apparently not released as minis....like Route 16. Not sure why...but only two seem to exist..Phoenix and Eagle. Todd
