I picked this Gyruss up recently. The previous owner told me he found it inside an employee breakroom at the local landfill. The crew was getting ready to throw it in the garbage until he rescued it. The game is Fully working. Just needs a good cleaning 🧽

Years ago my dad mentioned to a friend that I collect arcade games and his friend replied by saying his business had some and recently took them to the dump. Aaaaaaargh! Glad that Gyruss didn't suffer the same fate!

Thanks to the great CharlieG🏆
Wow Charlie found this initally? Great Job!

I hear this a lot. I purchased a donkey Kong Junior that was converted to a DOnkey Kong 3, and the guy who never collected arcade games said it was about to get thrown out.

I looked on the back at the serial number and it was serial number 64! I converted it back to Donkey Kong Junior and sold off the DK3 kit. I no longer have it, but I am glad at least someone, not even a collector, rescued it and then was able to profit from it.

I am restoring my friend's Gyruss and just installed the control panel, his birthday was yesterday and he is out of town and returns tomorrow, it is the only game he owns and his favorite game. My gift to him is restoring it for him and he will be surprised when I finish it up this evening and he sees it tomorrow.

I have to say though he has never made it to earth!

Don't feel bad.
'Recently' probably meant that they were dumped YEARS ago...
