I saw that earlier today. I didn't even read the title of the game in the post, I just saw the screenshot and noticed it looked just like Gyruss.

Pretty cool.

Uh... That's exactly what it says on a real Gyruss. Only difference between the two is the title logo and the copyright. The board can run the original Konami ROMs.

Venus

Hi,

i played VENUS also here in Austria in the 80`s in a universal Cabinet - Bootleg of Gyruss.
We here in Austria, Germany had many Bootlegs in the 80`s... i think the dedicated Games were too expensive for most of the Arcadeowners here so they used "universal" Cabs (made in Austria and Germany) and bought Bootleg PCBs.

I can remember to another great game which was called ROPE MAN (also Bootleg)….original ROC`N ROPE.

I've seen one Venus machine before. It was a converted Stratovox, that had an original Gyruss marquee installed, and kept the Stratovox bezel and side art intact.

Never seen another one.

Kyle

Yep, definitely a BITD bootleg and not terribly uncommon. I've had a couple of the PCBs over the years.
