Ok, So here it goes:

I got 2: Capcom 1942 boards. Both have issues.

Board 1: Great sound, Good picture, Jacked up graphic on the Plane. (Just the main plane)

Board 2: Everything is Perfect visually, But no volume whats so ever.

Which is easier to fix, & how? Or is it possible to save both?

Any help would be great.
Thank you for your time.

Check the audio amp on the second board, it sounds like that may be the issue... if that's the case it'll be much easier to replace it than to locate which chip is causing the graphical issue and reprogram/fix it. Run your finger over the pins and if it makes no crackling sound then it likely is the amp (or a cap, though that's less likely), assuming voltage to/from the sound-related chips are okay (output TO the amp may be the issue if there's a loud hiss and the amp still makes sound when you do the 'finger check'). It's possible of course that it's one of the ROMs with the actual sound included in which case it'd be a lot harder to diagnose and may not be easier than the first board to fix.

Both should be fixable though, assuming the graphic issues aren't due to bit rot on an EPROM. If it is you'll need to burn a new one altogether, but thankfully 1942 is totally dumped in MAME and someone here should be able to do that for you if you don't have your own setup. If it is the amp and you can't find a replacement elsewhere and you can't fix the first board, you could always put the good amp from the bad board on the good board with the bad amp.

This is a good resource as well: http://wiki.aussiearcade.com.au/index.php/PCB_Repair_Logs_1942 It details a more complex sound issue that may help you figure it out if it isn't the obvious easy fixes. Good luck!
