Guy on eBay saying he has a yellow prototype not a test cart. He is asking 150K. Here is his item # 251116736970.... What a retard

Prototype what? Batmobile? Cotton Gin? Stegosaurus?

Can you give us any other description other than it's "yellow", or do we have to go thru hoops to see the item?

No real difference between a Nintendo cartridge and an arcade game... I think your post will hit 1000000000+ hits in no time!

All - I would like to nominate this post for post of the year.... This was like Shakespeare and stuff... thoughts?

He said he acquired it from DreamTR. Wonder if he can shed any light on the cart?

What totally sells me on his item is his constant, repeated assurances that it IS legit, that he is not joking, that he is taking this listing very seriously, etc.

I almost feel unworthy to look at such a serious, legitimate listing that so much care and professionalism has gone into. It is quite humbling.

The free shipping on that $150k cart makes it so much more appealing.

LOL, priceless.

Well, his dates seem legit. On the cart label it says 2-23-87 which could be a likely beta copy made before the production run was released on 8-22-87. Still, it doesn't look like any NES beta I've seen (and I've seen plenty), as they were either the boards w/out the case or board in a modified case with a couple of the chips showing. And usually the beta cases were the typical grey color. But the yellow color could have represented that the cart was going to go into production as a special GOLD color cart. IMO, it's a final beta before production. Can't prove or disprove it, but that's my best educated guess.

Still, that $150K price tag is quite out there, esp. if he was (I'm guessing again) some tester on the Nintendo phone help line back in the day, and just gacked a proto copy for himself and never returned it, and is now selling it for the price of a house.

Evidently sold for 55K. Could make an actual gold cartridge for less than that.

Sorry. I call bullshit on this. I need some proof and only then I will eat my words.

Just read the majority of the NA thread, sounds legit. Crazy, but legit.
