Hello,
I have an issue where my BBHP (arcade cabinet) guns (both) aren't tracking properly. When in game, or in calibration mode there seems to be a "sweetspot" where I can hold the gun in order for it to measure an on screen shot. each time I pull the trigger the shot registers at a different spot. When I go to gun tracking mode and hold either gun steady you can see the X axis constantly changing and the Y axis stuck at 479 with the occasional reset to 0 and quickly going back. Since this occurs with both guns, I can safely rule them out. Does anyone know what else I can check? If there are any details I can provide, I'll gladly do so.

Some details:
Big buck hunter pro
CRT
color adjustment appears to be fine

attached is a zip file containing a short video taken from a mobile phone camera. I have also posted a youtube link below;

When is the last time the monitor had work done on it?

Tired caps/flyback may not have enough brightness to keep the gun sensing spot on.

Do you have another known working guns to test on this game?

BBHP gun tracking issue

My next step was to recap and also replace the flyback. is there an easy way to identify the chassis so that I can order the correct rebuild kit? It's hard to believe that the gun tracking could fail so easily from such a thing considering that arcade cabs should be built to withstand the abuse that they can suffer in a public setting.

You might have to rejuvenate the tube as well, probably a good first step. If the tube is weak, it's no good for light gun games.

Post a picture of the chassis. The PCB. We don't need the tube numbers.

I might have to remove the monitor from the cab to get a good picture. this is the back of the chassis. I'm not sure if this helps.

We at one time owned 50 of these, maybe 30 left working. I have been battling to keep the CRT monitors running.

1) tube may need to be degaussed. Go into monitor test, or the gun calibration test screen, which is white. Do the edges appear not as white as it should be?
2) you almost have to have RGB cranked to 100%, each color
3) I also find the opto's on the guns get weak. You can replace the opto (Digikey 365-1082-ND) or the whole board

These are the best images of the chassis boards, along with the CRT label, I could take. It appears that this isn't an original monitor.
