I've been a fan of the band since '86, and wanted the pin since it came out.

Yesterday, after a 6-hour round-trip and a trip to Home Depot to rent a stair-crawling appliance dolly, I have a GN'R in my basement:

So happy. It needs a cleaning, rubber kit and a snapped drop target replaced, but is otherwise fantastic. My Christmas list now includes an LED kit and subwoofer kit.

Below are the stairs that nearly made me try to convince my wife that we should find a place for it in the dining room. That crappy protruding wall on the right-hand side of the bottom of the stairs made the opening there 28-1/4 inches wide and at an angle to the stairs, and the head on the GN'R is 27-3/4. Fun times. But so happy.

Nice pin. Be careful with LEDs. Brighter is not always better. Do you want to have a big-ass light fixture or a game you can play and enjoy? (I have DE's other widebody, WWF Royal Rumble, and these are big/heavy games! Took me the better part of the day to pull and replace the LEDs that the seller put in. It was unplayable and looked gaudy rather than cool.)

That's awesome congrats! And I feel your pain about them steps. I have the same sharp turn left elbow hallway also.

I've never played that pin, but I've heard from a few people that it's really a great game.

Awsome bro! I concur this is also my holy grail, been looking for one in northern California for awile. Keep it original, Sound system is already good. I have it's son Royal rumble and a empty spot just waiting for daddy to sing Sweet Child Of Mine!

If you do LEDs, you will have both on this one. Another cool mod is installing a slash figure.

I disagree. I have a DE BTTF and Royal Rumble and they both look great with LED's and the game is still perfectly playable.

Thanks for the congrats, guys, and the thoughts on the LEDs. My current bulbs and inserts need cleaning, so perhaps I'm not getting the proper brightness out of mine as it is. Once I've got it cleaned up and any bad bulbs replaced I suppose I'll have a better idea of how bright it is.

At that point, if I'm not happy w/ the lights I guess I could at least give LEDs a shot and see how I like them - I've really liked the look of the 2-3 LED-lit GN'R's that I've seen online.

And my wife appreciates the comments on the pillow and Vegas sign. Her dad gave her that Vegas sign a few years ago - whenever we remodel the basement (a frightening thought given how much fun it was moving everything down there) I'd like to put some short 1/2" spacers behind it when I re-mount it to the wall and light the outline from behind.

There was definitely some karmic goodness surrounding picking this machine up now - GN'R was all over SiriusXM on the drive to pick it up, and we're going to see Slash tomorrow night.

What kind of LEDs? The 3-LED white ones in my WWF strobed like hell. I actually left LEDs in the 6 TAG target inserts, and even these bug my eyes (but not as much).

To the OP: sample a few LED types before buying a bunch to install, make sure your eyes are OK with them. Trying to play a game with LEDs is NOTHING like seeing pics or videos online. Some newer LEDs are supposed to cycle more smoothly, but they are pricier of course.
