I can't for the life of me keep the screws in place on the guns on our Time Crisis 4. I know that a hole here and there is stripped -- but all the screws keep coming loose and falling out, and those stripped holes is from me overtightening in an attempt to keep them stuck. I've even tried different screws that wedge themselves into the plastic so they shouldn't turn, but those fell out too! What am I doing wrong?

gun screws

Try using LocTite or finger nail polish on the screw threads priore to putting them in.

I've tried a dot of blue LocTite on each screw, it doesn't seem to help much. The tube says not to use on plastics... I don't want to mess up these (very expensive) gun halves so I've always been sparing. Can I safely just slather it on? Or would that not make a difference?

Personally, I'd (gently) mod the gun housings for nuts on the opposite sides, then use red high-vibration threadlocker to secure everything. Metal Screw on Plastic will never hold up in the long run. You're going to have to mod-in a metal on metal solution.

Er... The screws either go into some metal pieces that make up the "frame" of the gun, or they go into those metal standoff-ish things manufacturers mold into plastic to reinforce the plastic-piece-to-screw interface. So it's not straight up plastic-on-metal screw. (I can take apart a gun and take pictures if needed.)

There's such a thing as high vibration threadlocker? I'm gonna have to try that. Right after I buy some more of those damn screws...

Ah, ok. Never seen the inside of the gun, myself.

Stripped frame points you can try opening up some and tapping for larger screws, atleast.

The stupid plastic grommets, however, are another animal.

And yeah, there's high-vibration stuff. The stuff I have is from an automotive place, red colored (Req. Tools, vs. Blue which is hand tight, if I remember the stupid Loctite color codes). But that's in the toolbox at home, no idea what brand.

DO NOT USE LOCKTITE! It will eat the plastic (been there, done that).

Try some Teflon tape or some plumbers pipe dope. I've used both and it will work.

an epoxy like jb weld might work... migh up a little, dap that on the threaqds and reassemble. Should be locked in good when your done.
