I got my gumball machine last night and today we decided to try and get it open. It didn't come with any keys so I managed to drill the locks with no problems at all. We knew it had money in it but we didn't think it had this much!!

$48.88 in change between the 2 of them! I only paid $50 Canadian for it.

I got all the old M&M's out of one, but the damn Mike & Ike's are one solid mass. Going to be a bitch trying to get them out. Any ideas??

since you have one empty, you know what lies in the other. i would carefully drill down into the mike and ikes.. drill holes all around and eventually you will be able to get some out of there.

they should be fine in there as well. when the cycle is done. pull them out, grab a air hose and blow them dry.

My next post about this will hopefully be of me filling them with delicious candies! haha

What kind of candy should I put in them.

Everyone tell me their fave candy that would work in a gumball machine ;)

I put EVERYTHING besides the base into the dishwasher and it's all shiny and clean now. Got some Peanut M&M's for one side, going to get some type of hard sour candies for the other side I think. Just have to slap it back together (takes 1 minute or less) and snag a couple locks and she's going into the gameroom.

I've got a double set up like that, too. Mine are red Northwestern machines. No money in them, but they were free, so no complaints here. You can snag a pair of locks off of ebay.
