Ok. So our Guitar hero has never had an issue. Plays great. Excellent condition. So a few weeks ago it started coming up with a message on boot up that says "alert system battery running low". Opened it up and found a Dell inside. Sure enough the 3 volt battery on the PC mother board was dead. So we un hooked the PC, took it apart to replace the battery and hooked it all back up. Now we just have a screen that says no signal. PC comes on with an orange light, fans come on, aux light comes on but nothing else in the PC. All over a stupid battery. :( we can't test the PC with out having the top board plugged in because PC won't come on. Won't even put power to a keyboard to go into BIOS to make sure settings are correct. The boards on the back are all lit up with red LEDs and power board for PC has one green light. I have tried opening the cd tray to see if it would try to run, with no luck. This is NOT my era of games that I typically work on and I am not a PC person. Any suggestions would be helpful! Thank you!

send me your email address and I'll send you the 740 BIOS settings.

Then plug the power supply directly into the mother board, plug in a USB keyboard, power the PC up with the power button on the front of the PC, tap F2 (I think) to get into the BIOS, make and save the changes. Reverse the power supply connection and you should be all set.

the BIOS settings should be in the manual. the really crucial one though is AC power restore. but... it doesn't turn on, right? if you observe there's a pass-through plug for the motherboard connector, and it actually removes the power button wiring. in order to get the machine to boot again after changing the battery you have to undo the pass-through and plug the power supply directly into the motherboard. this will restore the power button functionality, you'll be able to turn it on and get into the BIOS settings then.

once you've set the AC power restore setting you can turn it back off and reconnect the Raw Thrills pass-through cable for the motherboard and the game should turn on by itself when you turn the cabinet on.

Did a search for the same issue I'm having with a guitar hero. Any chance you could send me the BIOS, also? I didn't change the battery though, I replaced the mother board because I thought it was bad. On my power board, I have 2 solid red lights by the fuses but my green light is blinking... is that correct or should it be solid? My email address is [email protected]. Thank you for any help.
