Hi everyone,

I have this Frankenstein Maximum Force/Area 51 that I've been working on. I bought it as it is and really haven't done anything but clean and shop it.

I have two questions:

1. The monitor is shrinking in on itself and has rounded corners. (See picture.) What causes this? Would a recap kit fix the issue?
2. Can anyone help me identify the chasey and what recap kit I would purchase from Arcade Parts & Repair (or another vendor with good recap kits)?

Thank you!

Hi guys. Any input on how you typically fix the rounded corners. Does a recap usually take care of that?

Thanks
I'm just getting into the hobby of fixing games.

Do you have controls on that little daughter board attached to your chassis? There might be a pin cushion adjustment pot on there. I'm not familiar with that chassis but I would certainly look for a pincushion control. If ya can't find one, I would definitely cap the chassis. Capkits help with geometry problems and full deflection problems and smeared images and such. Weak colors are usually tube related.

Thank you @curtislv426 This is a good suggestion and nice learning opportunity for me. Unfortunately, no luck trouble shooting with the pin cushion adjustment. It looks like I'm going to recap it and see if that fixes the issue. Peter at Arcadepartsandrepair.com sent me a link to the correct kit. (Thanks Peter)
