if i use a Golden Tee Complete on a new cab with a newer(VGA) type monitor will it look better or same as it did in '05(the original boardset i'm using)? i know they have improved dramatically over the yrs from being so pixelly!!!

can i raise the resolution on GT Complete or will it just do it itself?

there is nothing in KLOV on GTs that i see explaining when they converted from CGA to VGA and now HD i guess! anyone know?

The computer based games are 800X600 via the CRT's and native resolution of the LCD's when used with one. The software does the changes by itself.

cool...that's what i thought but wanted to confirm!

thanks Matt...by the way, is this McCullough?

ok, have a few pics of this monitor and it's a dig monitor but looks like the SSB installed now still uses CGA and it's computer-based??? trying to use both SSB and GT Complete in this cab with a dual jamma pcb and not sure what i need to plug into this monitor since they are both PCs? do i use VGA plug for GT?

also, what is the little pcb on the right of cab(from behind cab) with a USB plugged in but nothing out? guessing this has something to do with the online option?

is there a way to keep player options without being online but just keep on this game?

sorry, here's pics!

There are dip switches on the I/O board (at least I think thats where they are) that change the screen res. That monitor will do CGA, EGA, VGA and in some cases XVGA. That little board is a security device.

as you can tell i am a novice at HDD and GT stuff! thanks for the resolution info.

ahh....so that's the SSB security device and GT's will have a security chip onboard, correct?

the SSB uses a computer "tower" in the bottom of cab for all its connections, then has its I/O board externally. SSB looks like it is literally a pc in a pc(except for that I/O) and GT looks like its all seperated. GT doesn't use a tower does it?

if running a dual jamma, and since SSB is using CGA plugin, can i use VGA for both or is SSB just a CGA game?

You might want to run a VGA cable from the SSB computer to the monitor and see if your picture quality is any better. I'd hate to imagine that some one would run that game and that monitor at the lowest res when you can run them up to 800X600.

I have not seen the latest versions of GT but I'm pretty sure that they use the same computer as SSB.

yeah that's what i thought too but it looks fine like this....i'll test it though and see! trying to figure out if i even need that bottom interface "tower" for the GT Complete kit??

GT Complete never used a computer "tower". Complete is from the Fore! series of games. It uses a PCB and the HD connected to it. It does have a dip switch for resolution - CGA (std res) or EGA (med res).

The GT Live series games is when it switched to the computer tower running the game.

Best read through the manual for the Fore! series GT games to get a better understanding of the connections, etc.

ahh...ok! thanks for the info! i thought that i could use VGA(as does SSB) and guess i can't for the GT even with a digital monitor.....that sucks! lol
