I will add pics when I get home tonight. I haven't found my answer in old threads, or the internet, so I'm posting this.

I'm working with a GT Complete game(green board) & cab, fully functioning, and trying to get a SSB kit installed. I have gone through both the SSB kit and Perfect Solutions kit instructions......many times, I have to be forgetting something. Also, in case someone knows what kind of monitor that is without researching it, please help with the ID. I will eventually go searching to find info for that, just haven't yet.

-I have the SSB computer mounted in the bottom of the cab
-I have the CID connected
-I have power ran to the I/O board from the PC
-I have a VGA cable running from the SSB PC to the I/O board
-Original GT Complete game is running on CGA/EGA to the monitor
-Have the long jamma harness from the PS kit running from I/O board, to the Perfect Solution switcher
-Have the trackball harness from the I/O board to the switcher

Am I missing any connections? With the above set up, I've gone through all of the monitor resolution settings on the SSB I/O board. I've even ran the VGA cable straight from the SSB computer, to the monitor, tried all res settings. I'm still getting nothing. Switch buttons don't seem to be changing anything, just GT continues to play with no interruption. Looks like the switching buttons has a pigtail with 2 wires, looks to be for the lights in the buttons, I don't have that hooked up yet, as it seems the switch functions shouldn't operate off of that connection.

Thanks for any help or guidance regarding this.

Excuse the mess of wires all over the place, once it's solid and running, I'll go back and be anal on how I clean them up.

Does SSB play blind? Can you connect it to a PC monitor and get pic?

I can get picture by hooking up a PC monitor, but I'm not getting any controls to work. I can't even get the Operator Selection screen to come up with the dip switch setting. Even going through and disconnecting the GT Complete, I still get the same results, no controls.

For those who have or worked with the Perfect Solution switcher:
-The 10 pin connector for the switch controls & lights, there's a red wire & black wire that is separate from the 2 switch controls, is that a ground and +5DC inputs? I assume that's just for the lights, but maybe that's what I'm missing, no DC to the switcher? I would have thought all of that would have fed through the different jamma connections, but maybe not.
-And if the above is true, shame on me for just overlooking that :)

What's weird, when I had the second test monitor hooked up, when trying to use the controls, one of the two switches for the game select was adding credits to the SSB game. Wouldn't let me start it, but I could add money to it, lol.

I just hooked up Gt complete & SSB 2009 with Perfect solution switcher. I tapped my red and black wires coming from the 10 pin connector into the extra connector that supply's power for another hard drive, but my red/black wires had there connector cut off from previous owner i got a used kit. The red and black wires need to be hooked up as they power the perfect solution that's why the trackball isn't working. Any chance u can tell me what size bulbs for the buttons mine are missing.
Thanks
Scott

The bulbs you need are #555's, and I just wired up the red & black wires, the board switches screens like it's suppose to. Now I just have to get into the Operator Settings, as I still can't get the trackball & start buttons to work.

When I have more time tomorrow, I'll mess with it, and see if I can find any other markings on the monitor. But it's at least moving the right direction :)

Thank you all

Yeah, the red and black wires that were cut confused me as well when I had that kit. The previous owner must had wired it different and cut off the molex connector that you plug into the SSB tower for power. I did not do that lol. As for the bulbs in the GT and SSB buttons, I did not use them. I just ordered led push buttons off ebay. Those big ass buttons look retarded.

OK, so I'm still missing something. It will switch from GT, but it still won't display any video on the screen, or flip the audio over to SSB. When it flips games, monitor says "No Signal". Somewhere along the lines, it's still not getting it's feed to/through the switcher.

I should have replied back to this thread, it ended up being a dirty dip switch not making contact. Has been running great for a while now :)

Going to add this to this thread as well, for future references for others. This sketch is based on a Golden Tee Complete wired cab, adding a Silver Strike Bowling Kit, a Perfect Solution Switcher, and running RGB video signal(CGA/EGA). Visuals are always a great thing :)

Warning!! Please keep in mind, if your monitor requires an ISO transformer, be sure to add that off the AC Distro Block. This sketch is meant to be helpful, and shows how my cab is wired.
