I should have this in my garage later tonight, but I'm an impatient bastard and wanted to know...

I see the 2 stickers on the side of the cabinet and the fold down marquee has SSB on it, so looking at the pic of the rear of the machine, does it look like both are installed?

I'm pretty clueless when it comes to the newer (newer than '99) GT machine hardware.

Yep that's both you lucky bastard!

The card in the middle with the 3 jamma connectors is the switch.

The Jamma PCB on the slide out shelf is GT and the nighthawk CPU is the silver box sitting on the bottom.

Great!

We'll see how lucky I am later tonight when I see if either of them works, also need a CP and a back door as well, but that's nothing :)

If all goes well I may drop you a PM, I really only wanted the cabinet initially.

I can't pass up the GT complete though if it's working :)

Good eye!

Nope, that just needs shopped before going back out on route, probably on the to-do list for next week.

Never played it before, looking fwd to it!

Well, fired it up and the SSB side works great, only 2007, but fun!

GT complete hard drive won't spin up though, good voltage at the power connector so it looks like a bad drive.

OK, I see a complete drive for about $30 shipped on eBay, but aren't there different versions of complete? 2005? 2006? How do I know what version I have?

Only one version of complete. People call it "2006" even though it was never called that by ITS.

If I was you I would bite the bullet and do the flash kit. Those complete hard drives fail pretty frequently and the guys on Ebay are selling old used drives with the GT image on them.

Thanks for the info!
The flash kit sounds nice but I'm guessing it isn't too terribly cheap and I started this project with the intent to gut the cabinet to install a different kit (Merit Boardwalk).
The fact that it has SSB and GT in it was an unexpected bonus (hell, I was planning on dropping in my own monitor!) and I'm not really sure what I'm going to do now.
I don't really care for SSB, I have WCB Deluxe on a different cabinet and don't really see a HUGE difference in gameplay so I'm fairly comfortable selling it. The GT complete on the other hand interests me greatly, but I need to see if I can somehow have it in the cabinet at the same time as the Boardwalk kit which is NOT JAMMA.

Don't get me wrong, I know I hit paydirt with this cabinet especially with how much I have invested so far, but the original plan was just to put this kit in an empty GT cab :)

Well I know someone who would buy the switcher kit off of you if you decide to sell it :)

My Silver Strike is in my game room but my GT sits in the garage....

Woohoo!
Picked up a back door for the cabinet and more importantly, a NOS complete HD! Popped open the static bag a little bit ago, hope to have time to install and test tommorrow
