I have an idea what the responses will be. Just want to run this passed you guys. Got a GT04 board from a reputable member. Just making sure that I state I have confidence in the sellers description. I have 2 PS's. 1 is an almost brand new happ power pro 200w. The other is a Peter Chou version of the exact same thing. On both, I get voltage low on the screen after the HD check. I have the 5 v cranked as far as it will go and it reads like 5.8 at the PS and only 4.9 at the board. I'm testing at the Power connectors. Any ideas where to go? The power supply will power a World Class Bowling and a GT 2k, both at the same time on my Jamma switcher. This is my first HD based game. I built the Power bypass just like the manual showed.

Thanks,
Robert

Anyone know if I can test this with a PC ATX power supply by using the standard HD power connectors? I have extensions I could use to make them longer.

Thanks,
Robert

OK. I have now tested with an ATX pc type and get the same issue. Reading about 4.9 at the board and 5.15 out of the connector w/ no load. Any way to adjust the +5 on an ATX?? Pretty please.

Thanks,
Robert

Turn your voltages back down to 5.1

Your problem isn't with your power supply, but in the wiring and/or connectors to your board. Are you connecting them directly to the board with the 4-pin connectors? You need TWO connected to the board.

Is the voltage correct at the connector when it is not connected to the board? If so, then something on the board is pulling it down....

I tried again w/ the ATX and I connected 2 of the 4 pins to the board and obviously 1 to the HD and it booted. I built my own bypass cable for use w/ the standard Happ model PS. I used brand new connectors and pins and a gently used jamma harness as donor wire. I'm going to retest w/ my original PS and perhaps relook at my bypass wiring. I wired it w/ 1 4 pin connector daisy chaining to another. Do they need to come from separate wires? Could that be pulling the voltage down?

Thanks,
Robert

New test w/ my original Peter Chou 200w PS. Still cranked all the way up, but now reading at 5.08 at the board. Tested at the connectors while the game was powered up. Boots now. Still reading much higher w/ no load. 5.8 w/ the PS connected to nothing. I guess the game is a power hog. Never worked w/ a GT fore board before.
