I am taking the monitor board off my Wells-Gardner WG814742, and the only obsticle remaining is a black ground wire that goes from the neck board to the back of the picture tube. Is it OK to cut this wire and solder it back together after the board is repaired? I know this is a n00b question but I am still kind of new to monitors. Shipping it out to Arcade Cup. Thanks.

BTW experieced enough to know to discharge!

have no idea what model that is but a general rule of thimb yeah you can cut it and splice it back togther IF its the ground wire. You cant(usually) get away with cutting and splicing the anode wire, just want to make sure you are talking about the crt ground..

yep give it the old snipperoo

if you are sending to it chadat arcade cup ask nicely and he might even crimp on a quick-disconnect for you, so god forbid next time its apart, its easy to undo.

That's the dag wire and yes you can cut it. Just make sure you reconnect it before you power it back up.

And the WG number you posted is a serial number, not a chassis model number...
