So, i received a Blasto stand around cabinet from my friend in a trade, There are quite a few problems,
the monitor does not center the image and no v-hold h-hold adjustments get it quite perfect, the image is also not exactly centered. I ordered a Cap kit from bob roberts for the xm501 motorola monitor.

The display of the game field is not accurate from screens/ emulated versions of the rom
I have a white area as well as the letters G and A all over the player 1 side of the screen,

Now i started testing as it says to in the blasto owner manual,

The power supply tests say to disconnect the outputs from the power board and test several areas
A +9 is actually +12
B +19 is 17.8
C -19 is NOTHING :(
D -12 is -12
E +12 is 12
F 5v is 5.2v
G zero is zero
(my readings are estimates)

What would be the suggested method to repair this power suppy board?
simply caps or would i want to replace more of the components?
Would these items cause bad display on the screen?

Any help is appreiciated and i will be doing my best to fix this rather then mame it

This ain't the one from Michigan is it ?

Does that game appear to derive any power from the monitor ?
(some old b/w games do)
Definitely re-cap the monitor to start with.

Well, yes this is a blasto stand around in michigan,...
are they that rare?
I Will cap the monitor and post results

I've seen one on another forum that was very nice looking.
Was just curious if this was the same one.
If I had been close enough I would have nabbed it when it was for sale then free.

So, looks like my monitor cap kit is on its way
Hopefully that helps some,
Im going to try and obtain all new caps for the power supply board so i can swap those out
anything else i should look at?

Here are some notes i took for the psu caps....
including part of the schematic and a picture of my board
i got the rating for the blue cap off a circuit drawing

well sence i have yet to get any suggestions, im ordering replacement caps for the power supply board
if this doesnt work i will probably just mame it sence no one seems to know anything about or how to fix it

So , after re-capping the power supply i have no change in picture
Still getting garbled display in one section
i am very tempted to throw a 19" screen and a pc in there running just blasto lol

Hey ,
I have a blasto also and it took over two years of looking before I found another blasto that actually worked, The cabinet was trashed, but my non working one was good, so I did a swap.
I sent my first board to a guy on here to try to get it to work. He fixed it, but for some reason it would not run on mine.
I can dig up his name if you like.
Rob.
