I wanted to apologize to everyone for my missing in action status recently.

Since late February in particular, life for me has been very hectic and I've haven't the time I've wanted to dedicate to this site. In particular we welcomed a new baby boy into our lives in March and my business ventures have also kept me more than busy.

Additionally, the warehouse I rent to hold the majority of our collection previously had a massive leak when rain piled up on the roof and the roof suffered a partial collapse. Hundreds of gallons of water came down upon the machines. Although most of the damage is fixable, it was extensive. There was hundreds of thousands of dollars of damage suffered in the form of machine damage and other costs. A resulting high-intensity lawsuit has consumed a good deal of my time the last six months and is now settling (fortunately successfully). I'm now playing catchup in many areas of my life.

There are a number of site issues I want to address over the next few months. Most of these issues deal with the main site, though a few are about the forums. I'll begin posting about this this week and will continue to do so as on and off over the coming weeks.

As we address these issues, I really want to ask for people's help in adopting some areas of the site that need attention, as this site won't grow without your continued help and support. Areas we need volunteers for include dealing with submitted content for the encyclopedia, our manual database, the flyer archive, and our events calendar. Some of these areas are ready for attention now, and some require some programming time before we can move forward. The events calendar is one of the items in particular that is easy to support now as any user can quickly contribute to by submitting information on a single event at a time.

Thanks for your continued support,

Greg

Count me in for the KLOV images and video game manuals database sections, I would be glad to contribute.

It's unscathed. As proven by the original building photos, the Sundance is impervious to all harm.

HAA HAA Literal laugh out loud.

This is a good opportunity to say thanks for all you do for this site, Greg. Sometimes the improvements come slower than we'd like but it's great that you care enough and are persistent enough to make improvements whenever you aren't overwhelmingly busy with other areas of your life. Congrats on the new baby and the legal victory! Sorry to hear about the water problem.

Not sure about my personal time, but I'd love to have the ability to deal with submitted content for these things. Pertinent to my current interests.

Yes, I realize I have like five posts.

If you ever need help with page code or graphics, I'd be happy to help spruce up things. I build websites as a side job and have a good knowledge of HTML, CSS, etc. Drop me a PM if/when you need me!

Didn't this damage happen like back in 2008 or is it new damage? I assume you have the games off the floor (pallets / blocks / etc)... right?

Hi Greg,

I'd like to know the current status of your plans regarding the KLOV cleanup and restoration. I have some material here (mostly images) in which I don't have no further interest, and I would like to submit it to KLOV before wasting them. Maybe some of them are hard to find pictures and would be a shame to throw it in the garbage can when it could be used on KLOV.

That case that was settling..didn't so fast. Both sides stood before the judge back then and said we were settling. The judge said, "go away and sign a settlement agreement, and if you don't, what you agreed in court today stands."

Then the other side changed their mind, so I had to go back to court last week to ask the judge to enforce the settlement agreement, which he did.

So live has been a tad busy.... [BTW. 'warehouse' is an ugly word for the same....it was actually quite nice and I looked at countless buildings before picking this one.]

In other news, my office is in rented space that I've been in for over 14 years. The building has been sold a few times since and the current owner is in default on his loan. As a result a court has appointed a receiver, whose interests may not be exactly the same as an owners' would be. My lease is up this month and the receiver isn't been that fast in dealing with a renewal, except to say that they will hold me to 'holdover' rates if I'm there without a lease. In English, it means my rent goes up 300% if I'm in the building after Oct 31 without a lease...

So unless great movement happens in the next 3 days, I'm going to be moving out very quickly... and after 14 years that isn't a simple task.

I have done some preparation for this (just in case already)... it's one of the reasons the forums moved last week (out of the office). [It's was a good idea anyway, as the forums are now on fiber making them more resistant to a potential denial of service attack.]

So...about images, etc... All that is very high on my priority list, and will be something I attack either late October, of if we have to move, after November 7th.

So go ahead and save those images...

Thanks,
Greg

Hey Greg, sorry to hear about that. However, I wish you good luck from now on.

Thanks for the reply and don't worry, I can keep the images here until you are ready to move on with the site. ;)

Hi Greg, just passing by the forums and decided to ask you about the current KLOV status. I could see some improvements already at the site and I've uploaded a bunch of arcade manuals ;)
