On holiday with the family in the Denver area. Looking to see if there are any good arcade related places to visit.

I plan to visit the 1up arcade one day.

Any other arcades? I'm in Highlands Ranch.

The 1up is where it's at. You might PM eXidy to see if he would be willing to let you check out his collection.

Thanks. Littleton eh. That's where I'm actually staying at. I guess Highlands Ranch has a Littleton address. I am actually in HR.

Littleton is a big place. I'm actually in Roxburough, which is extreme South West Littleton, south of Chatfield Reservoir

lol, I can see that intersection from my desk at work. You see IKEA? I'm in the building just West of there.

eXidy and Dr Gonzo - Thanks for all the suggestions

Scratched off the to do list so far, Broncos game.

AUSyTyIN - Interesting....... My brother (who we are here visiting) works in an office in a building over by IKEA. They just moved into that building not too long ago.

cleverlyj - Do you know this place?

Clare of Assisi Homes-Westminster, Inc. – senior housing
2451 West 82nd Place
Westminster, Colorado 80031-4065

Is it easy to find? Might be heading out there for a visit.

i don't know it, but i know where it is. i used to live near there. not the safest of neighborhoods. there's a senior housing place somewhere around 76th and sheridan that is a lot nicer/safer.

I wouldn't make a special trip for it, but if you find yourself near Colorado Mills mall in Golden there's a couple places with games there. Putting Edge has some newer arcade games and a pair of nicely maintained air hockey tables. There's also two "Tech World" store fronts (one across from Chili's by Putting Edge, another near the Lego Store). The games at Tech World are kinda beat up and dirty, but one store has a Centipede and DK Jr that I'll play (and also a Pac/Galaga with the world's largest monitor crammed into the cabinet that I think makes the game extremely hard to play). The other Tech World location has a Galaga, Ms Pac Man, Tron (but with a non-Tron joystick), Zaxxon, and several 90's games. Since it is on the way home from work I like stopping and playing a few games of Galaga and Tron.

Also, at Southwest Plaza near Bowles and Wadsworth (about 10 miles from where you are) there is another arcade there, but I actually haven't been in it to see what games are there. My wife just texted a picture of the storefront to make me jealous...

Thanks for more suggestions.

Any idea the name of the place in southwest plaza?

cleverjyl - My wife works for the company that owns that complex so we thought we would just stop by and see what the site was like.

AUSyTyIN - He works on the 5th floor of said building. Not into arcades. So you used to live close to work and now he lives close to work. Last name sounds something like what's at the end of my KLOV screen name.

Don't know him then. I've only been with un-said company for just over 2 years. My commute was 3 miles, now it's 24...

Last I knew, there was no arcade in SW Plaza. That's the mall I grew up at, and still the closest one to me.

I'm not 100% sure if the location at Southwest Plaza has any classic games - the pic my wife took looked to have a lot of redemption/vending stuff, but she did say there were some games in the store, she just couldn't name which ones. This was a couple months ago when she stopped by so it might not be there anymore.

Another place I thought of is Casa Bonita:

The food is nothing to write home about (I compare it to Taco Bell on a plate), but they have a bunch of arcade games there. Also, I could probably eat my weight in their sopapillas - those are actually pretty tasty compared to the rest of the food.

actually, that place isn't that bad. i looked up on bing maps. the big apartment complex just to the west of it is crappy and filled with mexicans and white trash. i used to live about 6 blocks west of there on 84th and i'd see cops there about 30% of the time when i'd drive by.

Another one off the list - 1up, check.

This place was great. Took the family so we went early. There was a good selection of games. The only problems I ran into were that Moon Patrol ate my quarters, and the music and kong sounds on DK did not work. Nothing to complain about as I got to play a bunch of cool classic games. My daughter spent the whole time on the pins and my son basically played Star Wars and Crusin' USA. I think it was Crusin USA but I didn't really pay much attention to the title as it was far too new a game for me :)

Played one game of DK and got arount 90K
Played one game of DK3 and got around 120K
The rest I sucked even more at. I don't think I played any game twice. The game I hadn't played since BITD that I enjoyed most was Joust.

Here's some crappy cell phone pic's..
