I know that almost everything in a pin should be run dry. But, while going through my Swords of Fury, I noticed a little grease on the drop targets of the mini-playfield. Looking at what the last owner did, not much, I highly doubt that they would grease those. So, that leads me to wonder, was that put on at the factory. Now, that lends to the problem of collecting a lot of dust and after time slows the targets and what a pain to get those out. But on the other hand after all these years there is no wear to the target where is slides. Any opinions from the community?

Not sure of that particular machine, but almost every manual ever published indicates at least a couple "metal to metal" moving parts that were factory greased.

And after 30+ years, sure it will gum up. If necessary, disassemble, clean and yep - lube it again. Just a very small amount - the white grease in a tube from RS works well.

My Swords of Fury drop targets sometimes start popping back up as expected, only to stop doing so again for a bit. I've been wanting to take them out and clean 'em up to see if that rectifies the problem before I take any other action. Not sure if they're lubed, but my local pinball buds would throw a fit if I even brought lube anywhere near the drop targets. :p

The drops on my Time Warp were hanging, so I used just a little bit of that lightweight oil you see in the little containers that looks almost like clock oil, very thin oil.

It spruced 'em right up.
