i have been playing gravitar online , to get used to it until i can get an upright sent over from this site , i never played it back then , but it is so appealing because it is ultra hard , this is the link i have been onto http://www.atari.com/play/atari/gravitar it is a compromise for now , but it gets me used to it ,,, damm this game is hard , my feeble high score up to now is only 3,150 !! i havent got past the 2nd planet yet [ first solar system ]

I expand to full screen , i have it on my plasma with bluetooth keyboard and mouse , can play it on the couch

I aliken trying to steer this ship to like trying to steer my old 1969 F 100 with no steering wheel , and just a pair of pliers .

I will keep at it until the end ,, [ end of me more like it ] , i cannot wait until i have a nice dedicated Gravitar sitting in my house !!.

OK- I took a look.

The controls used in that game make it MUCH more difficult.
up-arrow for thrust?
down-arrow for shield?

It makes it pretty hard to drive.

Download MAME and play it with two hands.

Black widow is addictive ? , that is good assurance , when i get gravitar over here , it could be another classic vector worth getting , i watched it on Johns arcade [klov page]
and it looked alittle cutesy ,, but if it falls into the classic vector , impossible to get anywhere catergory , then maybe its not so cutesy , pengo like , it`s also almost a straight swap .

I love Gravitar and played it some at CAX.
My hand can't take too much of it and starts to hurt trying to steer the ship with the buttons.:(
I can only play long enough to clear 3 planets in the 1st solar system before I have to stop.

Gravitar is a very difficult game, and without the proper controls it's even tougher.. But I find that the controls on the dedicated machine make the game very playable with some patience. The online game would be almost impossible to get very far IMO, this game requires extreme precision and I don't think it would be possible with those type of controls.

Gravitar and Black Widow run on the same boardset. That is why you sometimes see Black Widows with Gravitar side art. You need a Black Widow control panel (of course) and the wiring to it is somewhat different but an adaptor can be made.

I hope to one day have either game. I probably wouldn't get anything else done if I had a Black Widow. I have been known to play it for two hours at a time. Of course, it involves a lot of continues, but its the only game I can play for that long and not get sick of. It just sucks you in.
