I know this has been discussed before.. Just bought a Black Widow board. I have a working Gravitar. What else do I need besides a CP to run the BW PBC in the Gravitar machine.. Im not looking to convert the Gravitar, Just want to play the Black Widow for a few months, while I look for a cabinet to put it in...

Dan,

Basically it's rom swap and I believe add a wire or two to the harness to bring extra input signals into the pcb edge connector (memory is a bit fuzzy). Just compare the wiring diagrams in the schematic packs and it's easy enough to figure out.

If you want a custom BW/Gravitar daughter card(s) for push button swap let me know. ;-)

You still need to have the BW control panel that will plug into the Gravitar harness. Just look at the pinouts for both and you will see what needs to be done. Basically just have someone make a harness for you that plugs between the BW panel and the original harness to adapt it. Or make it yourself.

I've had someone do it for me and it works great. You can do the same thing for Space Duel as well. I would get that board as well as the panel too. Great game to go with the others.
Gravitar, Black Widow, and Space Duel all use the same hardware and cab internals. Just the cp, board, and artwork are different. So buy the marquess too and swap them out as you swap boards.

Hey djw90,

It's been awhile since I've hung out here, and man, I have to say your game list is mighty impressive.

If you could only keep one game, which one would it be?

Thanks...If I could keep one machine. It would be Lunar Lander.. It was one of the machines that really grabbed me as a kid.. Was never good at it when I was a kid, but after I got one I became addicted to it and got good. Took thousands of games but finally broke the the World Record on it. Now I know it will be the last game that will ever leave:)
Second choice would be hard maybe Dragons Lair or Star Wars??

Oh and I want to say its great seeing you back around... Welcome Back Brent...

Ah, good to see you got a board.

I will make a BW from scratch and stick the ZVG in it. (Don't tell everyone but I want to do sideart for it too) hehehe

I might have a repro cab built. I would need side art. With the Major Havoc project underway. Black Widow is the last one I need to own all the Atari Vectors:D

Would it be easier to put it in a space duel cab?

vector labs listed a proto board for space duel cocktail to play all 3 games. Space duel has the most wires going to the CP and its in 1 molex. Plus space duel has 4 speakers, so I would say yes its the best choice of cabinet if you don't have room for all 3.

Well Im going to have all 3, but it looks like im going to have to build the Black Widow in a repro cab, since I cant find one. So what I want to do is just play it in either space duel or gravitar cabinet for now to test boards ect. So I want to be able to reverse what I do later...

I you care about the cab look, then I would just play it in gravitar until you find or build one.

You have the pcb, grab the CP, add the 4 wires and your done. The space duel conversion would probably be more work and the original BW CP harness will not match it..

Cool thats the way to go.. Thanks:cool:

Easy enough to play single player Space Dual on a Gravitar CP using an adapter.
