hello,
i am trying to put a mame cabinet together. got x-arcade tankstick ordered. next it would be monitor/tv and graphic card. have a few questions.

1. graphic card? i have ultra 6800 and ATI X2400 that i want to use.
i hook up 6800 to lcd - some games look ok but most look graining. lcd is at native resolution something like 1600x1200 (don't remember exact no.). when hook up with 21in. tv thru s-video cable- it look blury and screen kinda messy up with some emulators like makaron and mugen. so my question is what did you do wrong-settings/hookup?
do i need a newer card or arcadevga card like arcade vga 3000 from ultimarc (what benefit from this card)?

2. monitor vs tv vs lcd
i know lcd resolution it too high for most game. what do you guys suggest low cost vs high cost. like i said i have 19in. lcd both wide and standard 4:3, 21 in. tv with s-video, no arcade monitor (if needed, would like one with vga input so can connect to pc)

3. which front end: i like to run mame, neogeo, makagon, dreamcast, mugen and maybe couple pc games.

thanks alot for all the help and comment = try to learn as much as i can. ps. some more questions might come up later. :)

Every question you have asked has been asked here several times before. The search feature will be of great use to you.

Video card - fine
Monitor - either buy a tri-res arcade monitor or use your TV. TV's look fine if using a front end for MAME otherwise I'm not a fan of them.
Front end - I prefer Hyperspin.

i like using old TVs as monitors, and yeah, ditch the x-arcade and build your own CP from scratch. it will work better, last longer, and even save you a couple bucks.
