Hey guys,

I put a new Wells-Gardner K7200 series monitor into the Granny & The Gators and I need to figure out the right connections for sync.

Granny's video connection has both an orange and gray sync cable, which I'm assuming are negative sync (horizontal & vertical, or are they composite?). I pulled the pins for those and put them into one of the 3 plug connectors, because the WG K7200 has the negative sync terminals on the end.

The monitor isn't syncing, so I'm trying to figure out if I need to just use the orange sync cable, and loop it from vertical to horizontal negative sync or if there's some other combination I need to use.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg

Bumping this back up. Anyone with a Granny or Baby Pac able to help me out on the video sync?

Thanks...so, do I need to loop both the orange and gray sync cables together from the video output cable that comes out of the VIDIOT? Or just use the orange cable by itself and connect to the horizontal negative and leave the other cable not-connected?

Thanks,
Greg

The sync is neg comp.

IIRC for the 7200 you only need to hook sync to the number 10 (-H) pin to get it to sync.

Both sync wires should be orange, and all you should have to do is move the 3 position connector over 1 spot so that it hangs over the end of the chassis header.

I did some further investigation on this one. Apparently, G&G puts out positive sync on both the orange and gray cables. If I connect just the orange cable to the positive vertical sync pin on the monitor chassis, it does sync the video, but it is inverted. If I additionally connect the gray cable to the positive horizontal sync, it still syncs but the video is still inverted.

So, I've narrowed the output down to the fact that it is positive sync, now I just need to determine the right combination to keep the video from being inverted on the K7200.

By "inverted", I mean the picture is flipped upside down.

By inverted do you mean the pic is upside down or backwards? That can be fixed by swapping the yoke wires. Bob Roberts has a tutorial on his page, I'd link it but I can't access his site from this network.

I'll take a look at the yoke wires. Weird thing is that this monitor is brand new from Wells Gardner. I suppose they may have manufactured some that were setup for a mirror configuration that weren't sold before. Or perhaps the tube was put on the frame upside down for some strange reason or accidentally.
