Seems I have a few PM's asking this question so lets make a thread about it.

I think it was pretty weak. Not much there and most of the winning bids were ridiculous. There were a few bargains, like the full motion (working with dim monitor) Sega Super GT that went for under $300, and a few others. Many went for way too much. I contimplated that one but it was just too big to bring home. As far as my "wanted" games, the only Rush they had went for $430 with a dim monitor, and the MKII and UMK3 were piss poor conversions so I didnt even bother to track what they went for.

I didnt win any games, just a TV set and a printer for $1 each. The In-laws are a different story. They went nuts and bought both of the WCB's and a slot machine (which has now hit the jackpot and wont shut up apparently). After they realized they only needed one bowler and I was coming home with an empty trailer, well, you figure it out. One of 'em is in my basement now and awaits CL (or a partout, havent decided yet).

Sure hope Belleville goes better.

Anyone have better luck?

I got there late, and the neons were just finishing up so I missed the preview. The crowd seemed pretty large, especially considering this was the first nice weekend we've had weather-wise in a long time.

I bought the Battlezone in the dead row, it was locked up so there was no way to know if the boards were in it. When I got it home I cut off the pad lock on the back door, and everything was inside including the manual and schematics in very good shape.

The game looked pretty much untouched inside, but it was dead. I didn't have much time to work on it, but couldn't resist checking a couple of things, the AR board wasn't putting out the right voltages, due to a loose Molex pin.

The interconnect between the boards had plenty of cold solder, and the original AUX board pin header was installed with a significant arch in it, so I took it off and remounted it flush. That got the self test running and I tracked down a bad RAM at D1. A socket and a new RAM got it past self test, but the monitor wasn't working.

It's a 19V2000 and also had cold solder on the HV and deflection boards. I had the caps on hand for the HV unit, and recapped that, and removed and reflowed all the headers on the deflection. I put everything back together, and it worked!

There is still plenty of cleaning to be done, time permitting, but I'm really happy to have another Battlezone after selling my last one about 8 years ago.

Aw damn, I missed it. :( That's what I get for not paying attention to the schedule..... Hopefully there will be another before the summer.

I agree quite a few folks. Lots of drivers, handful of multicades. I ended up with a cut corner dynamo fighter, with a nice 25" monitor for $100, felt good about that. Also picked up my Kickman from Scott at the KC Warehouse (solid guy by the way, almost bought another cab from him but had to resist...), sold a game as well so a good day.

Got to meet a few KLOVr's for the first time, Splattergatz, Scott C, Yoalpster. all good guys, and nice to chat with them. Wierd prices, 750 for a beatup Whirlwind, 430 for the rush was too much with a bad monitor, $80 for a decent working Arkanoid, I think a decent Silent Scope went for about $400, Non-working Super Punch out for $180 maybe..etc etc. I know some guys got the list to post,,,,

Scott C sold me a ez20 for cheap, and sold Grbgeman a red tent for cheap, solid guy.

All in all, it was fun, agree the lineup was a little weak, but decent...

I didnt meet anyone, guess nobody wanted to say hello. Oh well.

Glad to hear you got BZ going. Wife told me whoever bought the AB got it going right after he bought it. I was thinking about the Baby Pac, but it seemed like alot of work for $300.

i thought it was a great auction. lots of great people to talk to and laughed a bit too. think the auctioneer could yell a bit less but hes ok.
have NO ROOM for anything. my garage is filled, the shop and the living room is stuffed. i upgraded my storage unit from a 10x20 to a 10x40 and its full. my predicament dictated that i just couldnt get in on any of the deals. :(

WORLD RALLY for 10 bucks, yes the monitor didnt work but it was a 25 incher.
there had to be at least a dozen others that Yoalpster and i shook our heads at, they went so cheap.
SUPER PUNCHOUT for 190. what was i thinking, stick me in the eye.
BATTLEZONE for 110. quick somebody punch me in the head.
i could go on and on.

yes it was great meeting you fellow collectrz headz. if any of you need me to get something for you nearby, PM me and ill try and JAM it in somewhere...or store it on the porch till you can pick it up.
we love 80's, i looked for you but didnt detect your blues shirt anywheres.

need to get my buttski in gear and finish off some projects and sell to free up more room for even more projects. doh.

splatter, next time there's an auction, I'll be there to talk politics!

....or more likely, complain about the selection. :p

I would have jumped on that Arkanoid for $80.

It was great meeting you guys too, I looked for the "Blues" shirt too, 80's and couldn't find you.

Maybe in the future we'll all have to wear KLOV light up beanies or something to identify ourselves (or maybe serve as a warning to others) :)

Was nice to meet some other Klovers. I was one of the bidders on the Rush. I bid a little higher than i wanted to but when mexi-mullet stepped in, i was done. He can have it along with that white monitor.

After that fiasco, i wish i had bid on some of the earlier auctioned games. Turbo Out Run only went for $100 i think. That would have been nice. Oh well i guess.

That Turbo Outrun had issues. It would reset upon coin up. I was considering that one too but not for $100.

Guess I should have asked you to bring your MKII along. Would have been nice to come home with something.

I was bidding on the Rush also, almost had it too, but no way was I going over $400 with a dim monitor. I thought you decided against one anyway?

All in all, it was larger than the last couple of auctions, but those hottubs did take-up some extra room. :) I spoke to Steve L. (the auctioneer) after the auction and he said he expects the next auction in May to be decent sized as well. I was hoping for more classics, but those seem to be fewer and fewer. Also, there were fewer multicades at this auction than the last 7-8, which is an interesting change. First auction in a while to have two Rampage which was nice to see.

It was nice meeting the NE KLOVers, Zen and Grbgemen. Always good to put a face with a name and certainly enjoyed the conversation.

Alas, I went home with nothing, since I was late for the neon signs. :(

Scott C.

Sounds like a lot of great prices to me! I'm glad there aren't any auctions in my immediate area .. my garage would be full again :)
