Thought I would post a few pics of this...
On Thanksgiving my wife and I hosted a family get together. After dinner we all ended up in my arcade playing games. Me, my wife, her 17 year old brother, and her 88 year old grandmother. She loved it! After teaching her how to play the various games she was right in there going at it. We played about 35 games of Warlords - after she tried her hand at Frogger, Breakout, Domino Man, Qbert, and Tempest...
Gotta give her props for being so determined to win at 88 years old!

Thats totally awesome.. Threads like this rock:cool: Looks like she is having a blast playing Warlords...

pretty awesome. the only old people i have had play my game are my in-laws, and they will play like one game every few times they come over.

This is what its about, smiling faces, dont think my inlaws would play unless I get an upright SMB... thx for posting

yeah isnt that the truth... these games are meant to be played... I was surprised how much she really got into them... a few days later I got a thank you card in the mail for thanksgiving dinner etc - but she had to mention one more time how much fun she had playing games...

That really is cool as hell. Some people have that special something that allows them to always stay young at heart and enjoy playing no matter how old they are. I bet she's a fun lady to be around.

That is totally cool. You have some cool family members there. Grandma and Warlords, it doesn't get any better.

I love my grandma, but all she would do is hang at the bar (picture from back in May). This grandma is the same one who told me that my eyes would go bad sitting too close to the TV set when I was a little kid. Maybe she is avoiding getting to close to those 41 monitor tubes staring her down.

That room.....is a thing of beauty! I sure hope to hell I can have something like this when I buy a house. :)

Those pictures of grams playing warlords are absolutely priceless! Thanks for posting those, she looks like she is having a blast!

Awesome pics! Thanks for sharing those...looks like a perfect way to spend Thanksgiving and one she'll likely not soon forget :)

And it's definitely never too late to start gaming....Doris Self was still playing competitively when she passed away at 81 a few years ago and could play a mean game of Q*Bert. RIP Doris :/

nice to get to spend time with the family like that. grandma looks great. godspeed!

She's a young 88 and plays games. Awesome! Cherish those memories.

My dad just turned 80. He's not into games but he did play some Space Shuttle pinball and Wii bowling a while ago. He was more into helping me get all my games to stay on and running at once (a retired electrician) and he helped me get another 20 amp breaker and socket in my breaker box. He said that was something like the 600th one he's installed in his lifetime. :)
