Grail Time!

Thanks bro. I still would want a Toobin in the System Lineup.

The replay value on this one goes downhill and this is much better as a 2 player game. Get 1 and I give it no more than 6 months and it's out the door...

Not when you take it off of Free Play. I did the same thing with Champ Sprint, and play it everyday trying to break 19K. Its fun, frustrating, everything you would want in a game.

I would love to have a Toobin. I loved playing it back in the day. I agree that it is more fun as a 2 player game, but still a blast to play as a 1 player game too.

Andy...put me down for $5 and 7 mo til the game is gone. I'll give Jow the bene of the doubt month extension.

I don't even have a Toobin, and you are already trying to make bets?

Coolest part? The coin slots have Scandia Token Inserts. Makes me think I could have played this very cab BITD when I used to go there growing up. Awesome to think, for sure.

Sweet!
I know what you mean for sure. I picked up my Galaga from a seller very much near OC, MD where I grew up. The seller said he bought it from a collector that bought it from an arcade that was closing on the OC boardwalk. Seeing as how Galaga has and always will be one of my favorite games...I cant help but think that I may have thrown down on my Galaga 25 years ago......

Funny how we geek out at stuff like that. I told a couple of my "non-arcade" friends about the Scandia thing, and they were just kinda like "oh, uh, cool." I asked if they had ever gone to Scandia growing up, and when they said yes I mentioned that they could have played this very machine too. They were unimpressed to say the least, heh.

BTW - does anyone else own a cabinet they know for sure they played as a kid at an arcade growing up?

I really hope this Marble Madness is one of them for me.

Now you just need to buy some Scandia tokens from me :) Ones you may have used as a kid on the game you may have played as a kid. :)

acejedi got that paperboy that he (and I) played as a kid at the boardwalk. I didn't realize that was scandia slots on that mm. The lady I bought it from had the game for like 10 years and I don't know the history before that. Get to silly race yet?

I played super punchout a handfull of times, and I've always wanted one!

I bough one from shatter1 a week ago, and its not in too bad condition, I gotta fix the marquee lighting, repair some wood issues, t-moulding, and video issue ( both sanyo's are rolling) i saw a vid on a specific transistor on the pcb that may be the culprit, so, I got a probe and transistors on the way, I sure hope that gets it going!

grail

thanks to scottmaggie I got my mm. very happy to have it in the garcade, very nice game. the highlight of owning this game was in my klov party a few weeks ago, watching stevew play. it was awesome, I was in disbelief. he scored like 80k and broke all the high scores, on top of this it was a "bad game" for him.

what a blast!

I never saw this thread before now as someone resurrected it.

I have a cockpit Sinistar that was the very one I played as a kid. It was a test unit that Williams tested at my arcade when I was a kid and when the test ended the arcade bought it. I didn't see it for about a decade as they had moved it to one of their other locations. One day while I was working at the arcade one of the guys brought over a few old games to place at our location and that was one of them. I totally freaked out because I didn't even know they still owned that machine. I told the boss that we aren't putting it out on the floor and I am gonna take it home no matter what. We called the guy who was the boss of all the arcades and I worked out a deal to buy it (I think it cost me 75 bucks). It was a nightmare trying to get it into my basement due to the size and weight and I made a lot of damage to the house getting it in but I still have it and will forever unless someone buys my house, in which case it will come pre-loaded with a cockpit Sinistar!

The roms on the board are even the hand labeled ones from when it was a test unit.

Great story! I moved across the country before collecting, so I couldn't replicate your experience...

A house pre-loaded with a cockpit Sinistar is my kind of inclusion :D
