It's been awhile since i've posted on here. But I had to share this with everyone. I've wanted a Food Fight for as long as i've been collecting games. But due to the scarcity/price range, I figured that I would never have one. Hell, I haven't seen a Food Fight since the one I played in a pizza place in my hometown as a kid. Also, West Virginia isn't known for being the rare game capitol of the world. But lo and behold, a guy posted one he had found on a facebook arcade group for guys in my area. The pictures looked amazing. Evidently, the original owner ran an arcade and took the game home with him after the arcade closed. It was only in the wild for a year then spent the next twenty or so under a tarp in storage. The guy posting on FB got it for two hundred dollars.

He went on to say that he only got it because it looked good and was cheap. He had no idea of its value, and little interest in the game itself. So I sent him a message letting him know if he ever wanted to part with it, let me make an offer. He immediately wrote back and asked me what I thought. I offered $700 and he bit immediately, and offered to deliver it. His wife wasn't really happy about him adding another game anyways, so he got $500 profit and a happy wife. And I got a game i've always wanted, in great condition, for a good price.

He showed up a week later and the game was even better looking than the pics indicated. Fired up perfectly. The screen had little to no burn and the joystick worked great. Heck, I opened the control panel up and the joystick looked brand new. I realize I neglected to photograph the left side, but I assure you it's just as nice as the right side.

I can't stop playing this game.

Here's a brief video:

Thanks for looking!

Wow! That has the proto sideart where the boy has a solid red shirt.

My understanding is that it isn't "proto" - it's just earlier in the run. They saved some red paint later on (by using stripes).

Unbelievable story ! I feel the same way you used to , that I highly doubt I'll ever get a food fight .

Thats cool how that worked out for you .

Welcome to the club. I had to get mine shipped from Frizz in Idaho and it's an early run machine as well. I wish mine had been that nice, ended up replacing the CPO and now it doesn't match the rest of the machine.

food fight

700.00, you stole it! thats a work of art and a pretty great game!

Food Fight is a fantastic game. We just had my 3 year old's bday party this weekend and it easily was the most played game by the kids. So simple for them to play, yet so freaking hard for adults to try and get good scores. A buddy of mine who loved the game as a kid played the damn thing all night. It was great.

Nice score, mang.

Kudos, builttofail!

This just served to illustrate how you never know what games will show up in this hobby, and for how much{or little, in this case}.

Food Fight is on my hypothetical "wish list", but not as high up as titles that I've actually played/remember from childhood.

That being said, I don't believe I've ever heard any negativity regarding FF...so it must truly be golden!
