So in the last 6 months I started to really consider focusing my collection away from a wide spread collection of well rounded games that could someday be turned into a fantastic mini arcade if I ever got a retail space. I realized that I needed to really just start getting rid of stuff that didn't get played much and focus on my own grails that I, my young boys and the friends that often come over to play at the house during BBQs, Pool Parties etc...
There were two grails that I refused to pay top dollar for years cause I really wanted "the find" and "the pickup" story... Isn't this what often what we love about this hobby?
Tempest and Star Wars are these two grails. Recently they've both popped up and were really in great condition but they both need work. Tempest is still waiting for me to make space for it but I quickly grabbed this SW that popped up on CL Monday night.
It's not working but I've been capping/working on the power and ARII sections first to track everything down. I got it to power up last night but spot killer is on. I still need to check out all of the voltages etc..
The story was that this guy has had this thing for nearly 30 years. It was a local arcade pull from probably no more than 2 years of service. He got the machine free in trade for some auto work as it was his fav arcade. It hasn't worked in 5-7 years and he's finally figured to let it go.
