In 1980 I played a game called Tailgunner 2 at an arcade in Miami. Someone took a picture of me playing it:

Now, 32 years later, I finally own one! And here's my son sitting in it:

It's a project, of course. The main problem is that the joystick is missing. Still, I'm super excited that I finally managed to get a hold of this game!

EDIT: I found the joystick shoved down into the housing!

More pictures.

The Foxy Lady sticker is not original, although it is awesome.

If anyone has a Tailgunner 2 joystick for sale, please let me know!

How awesome is that? Those two pictures of father and son in the cockpits (32 years apart!) are cooler than anything I have ever seen ever.

That's awesome stuff. You two do look a lot alike and around the same age. It must have been meant to be to find it when you did.

What an incredible thread. Those two pictures absolutely made my day. This is what it is all about!!! :)

Thanks for all the positive comments. Life is funny right?

What's crazy is that this game is from Florida originally. The one I played in 1980 was in Miami. Google tells me that Wometco is based in Miami. Could this be the same one I played 32 years ago?? It's fun to entertain the idea.

I'd bet it is. The side art placement looks identical. No way they were that exact at the factory.

You definitely have your work cut out for you, but what an awesome find and awesome project... Please do a restoration thread on this, I'd love to see pics along the way. Good luck.

how about a picture of you sitting in it present day!?
very cool with your kid 32 years later!

Excellent!

Keep playing with the angle of the shot until they're identical.
Then you can use some image morph software to make a cool animation.

Most awesome arcade-blast-from-the-past/spanning the generations thread ever! Congratulations on the score:cool: Pics are priceless. Yeah, gotta be the very same game... Amazing!

Wow, how awesome is that? Great pics of you and your son 32 yrs later in the same cab. It's like a time warp happened! I hope you do find out that it's exactly the same cab. What a thrill!
