I picked this up off of Ebay. I've been looking for one for about 8 years. Can't believe this one is as clean as it is!

The side art is 99% mint. Same with the control panel. The monitor is original and has zero burn-in. I took the rear door off and it looks like it's never even been opened. The joystick feels like its brand new. Almost too new.

Has one issue. When I power up it boots and says "Audio communication error". Game play is otherwise perfect, just no sound. I haven't had time to check it out but does anyone have any ideas of where to start?

Also, I've never seen one of these with the screen mounted at a 90 degree angle and the instructions applied to the bezel. I've only seen them with the monitor mounted almost completely flat.

Yours either has a missing bezel, or is a proto or something being that it's missing the silk screened bezel with pepper II art work . The flyer shows the upright bezel style which your cab has I also have a pepper II that is that way as does Steven Hertz I believe. Actually I believe the correct pepper II bezel set up is the smoked plexi bezel you have underneath the screened art plexi. Personally I've only seen the instruction sticker that is on your bezel on conversions but I'd bet it came with all of them and most ops simply left them off.

For the audio communication error start with cleaning and reseating the socketed chips on the top board. If this does nothing next EXTREMLY carefully remove, inspect and reseat the blue interconnect cables that connect the satellite board to the two main boards. I say be careful because these connectors have a tendency to break pins very easily when removing and re inserting. They also are sharp and have a tendency to stab you and draw blood. Plus in my experience I have yet to find a good source to replace these connectors so be careful. If all this does nothing move on to the socketed chips on the lower board. If this does nothing you might want to check your eproms to be sure they are working correctly.

If this does not solve it then I have no definite go to. The positive answer is that it is fixable. The negative is that I don't know a go to guy to fix anything Exidy. Personally I've had a lot of good luck fixing Exidy stuff and generally it's pretty reliable but as I said I don't know any repair man that says they fix Exidy stuff.

i like how the one dog points one way, the other dog points the other way...

and look at the old guy, with that nice white beard...he just looks happy

Is the art on the bezel that you have screened onto glass or is it just a paper underlay?

Is that art available anywhere? I'b like to print one up for my machine.

Nice pickup. I saw it with 45min to go and posted it up here in the ebay section. Cool that someone on here got it.

I would bet on proto. Is there any serial numbers on it? What about the eproms? Hand labeled?

The circled part? That's just a jumper plug - somebody can tell you which ones should be connected and which ones shouldn't. Check the resistors (R20,R21,R22) as it looks like a burn mark there.

They all check fine. There are no burn marks. Just a crappy photo.

Thanks man but those are low resolution .png files. They wouldn't be suitable for printing.

Did you download it? It's 2.82 mb in size and is meant to be displayed in HD on a mame lcd.

Looks fantastic in HD......
So I would think it would print very well, although I'm no expert at all in printing :)
Just trying to help though.

Craig... I received your e-mail through my site (Assuming that's you)... I'll be happy to scan my Bezel in the next week or two (especially because it's not installed yet). Give me the DPI and let me know if you have the know how to tile it together and retouch?
