the big 3 of pinball all gone. also data east, and sega.only stern remains and i dont think they hold a candle to gottlieb or williams. any thoughts?

Data East became Sega then Sega becames Stern...Basically same company..

Williams and Bally became one and got into slots....

Gottlieb I heard on one of the Topcast episodes tried to get into slots; Backed another company-didn't work...Couldn't recover financially and that did them in.....

You can get TILT through Netflix too. It was really well done.

After being in Vegas last week i can really appreciate the business decision to go into slots and stop making pins. Seems like wheel barrows of cash can be made in the casino related business and pocket change in the pinball business.

it is sad that's true though of the pinball industry. Although I went to the pinball hall of fame and had a blast and introduced some of my younger cousins into pinball and now they plan on getting one for their home too.

I was in Vegas last week as well. I'm not really into slots, but I have to admit I was impressed by the stuff that WMS is making these days. Modern slots have evolved into extremely advanced games that are not only interactive, but highly addictive. For example, I was playing a Star Trek slot that awards you Starfleet medals for achieving certain goals. As your medal count grows, new missions are unlocked. It's really clever, and it makes you want to keep shoving money in the machine.
