Mid summer or so, i picked up a Gottlieb Cactus Jack's. Got it working and noticed that the right flipper EOS switch made a bright flash when triggered. When i say bright i mean bright.
i started looking into it and found out there is supposed to be capacitors on each flipper. Well mine had none on either flipper. I also had noticed that the right flipper coil was some oddball coil.
So i shot off an email to pbresource about capacitors and what coils should be installed. They kindly replied with the correct coils and i placed an order. Get the parts and find out that they are way to big for my flipper assemblies. Another email to pbr and we discover that at some point an operator installed sys80 flipper assemblies. PBR told me that sample machines used sys80 and that i could use a-20095 coils. Which is what the left coil already was.
Well i placed an order sometime ago and finally just got around to replacing the right coil. Wired in my capacitors and fired the game up. Things started off great but after quite a few flips, both flippers are showing the same bright blue flash. I looked in the coin door and actually saw a small spark drop off the right EOS switch.
From my understanding a small blue flash is common. However this is bright and every time. Im afraid to play it anymore until i get it sorted out. Right after I got it working originally, the right EOS switch actually had to be replaced from all the sparking. Im afraid its just going to happen again or possible something worse.....
Confused on what i should do? Put is system 3 flipper assemblies with the correct coils?
