Gottlieb Raven pinball, any good?

The guy originally wanted $700 for Raven, I offered $550 and he says he will take $575 and is firm on that price. He said it has new rubbers and a new score board so maybe he is trying to get money back on that. I was hoping to maybe find a video of it on you tube so I could see what how it plays and sounds but haven't had any luck. I was thinking of going by and checking it out today but probably won't have time and I am thinking of waiting for something better to pop up on craigslist. I really only want to spend $500 on a pin and maybe $600 if it is a decent one. I was hoping to maybe find a viedo of it on you tube so I could see what how it plays and sounds but haven't had any luck.

If you're patient, and don't mind doing a bit of restoration work, you can snag something from a long list of known good games that you would be MUCH happier with. Just keep an eye on craigslist and e-bay, or the many pinball/arcade forums and classifieds, and wait for the right deal..... same as with arcade games. My Black Knight was $500, and only really needed about another $50 in parts to get running. Firepower was just two weeks ago for $300 and again about $50 in parts to get it going. EM machines can be had for about the same price too, and they can be quite fun to play even if they aren't ramp-happy DMD's.

The other issue to consider is that Raven was a Gottlieb solid state machine. This brings a whole host of problems, such as having to re-do the ground on all the boards, which is a lot of work. Parts are harder to get in some instances too. Gottlieb may have been king of the hill during the EM days, but when it came to the SS era they really fell apart.

Kinda playing the devil advocate here.

Any good shape cheap starter pin, probably will not run ya much less then $400 or $500, if you want a pin pretty bad, I would go play his and see what you are willing to pay, you may love it who knows.
I woulda paid $500 for the one I saw willingly, assuming my other choice was to have no pin, but my choice was spend a little more on a better pin lw3 so....

as i mentioned earlier lw3 is a cheap starter dmd(i paid 100 for mine, made friends with an op)
ixtlann had the same reaction he bought a lw3

when you are desparate it never turns out good, be a craigslist sniper ninja:)

lw3 or several dataeast games can be had cheap but you MUST be a cat ready to pounce!

It's going to be hard to find a dmd game for 100 bucks, though... I mean the dmd itself is worth more than that. Any board in the game is worth more than that practically, the playfield is worth more than that, the cabinet is worth more than that, the backglass is... I mean you get what i'm saying, lol. I've bought them for that before but man I've bought a loooooott of games and those deals only come around once in a blue moon.

i wasnt implying he can buy one for that, hence i explained how i got that price!

my point was/is dont waste 600 on that crappy pin, buy a nice sys 11 or cheap dmd, which i said look for a dataeast, and yes they only come around once in a blue moon, however just as important as what you know, is who you know! (bulk deals rock)

Is pinbot a decent pinball machine? There is a guy out here who has one and he said he'd sell it for $1000 which would include delivery and warranty. Is the price high for that pin? By the way thanks for the link to the Jokerz pin, it is located on the other side of the country for me but if they are willing to ship I might go for it. That is one pin I saw and I really like.

no, its just about right, more since he is including a warranty

pin-bot is a SYSTEM 11 pin and is a decent pin(not my favorite but its decent)

its a good starter, for a grand with warranty not bad imho, but do try to talk him down to say 800

but play it before you buy , you may not like the gameplay

your very welcome, its a pin ill buy if i get the opportunity, that pin is usually 800-1200

so if theyll ship, maybe you can get it for 500 + shipping= 800 or so? i love the artwork for it

I am hoping the seller of pinbot will take $800, I really don't need to warranty on it since I have repaired them in the past and I don't need it delivered. Hoping that might help drop the price.

He's trying to get him DOWN to $800 by giving up the warranty. He's not been offered $800 at this point.

yes I KNOW this i suggested he offer 800 in an earlier post!

its called negotiating!!!! ..a seller will never voluntarily lower his price....., if you dont ask ......you wont get!

kinda like the lottery....if you dont play ...you cant win

dyno, if you need tips, on what to say or how to negotiate feel free to pm me
