I recently added a second Gottlieb pin to my line up, Tee'd Off! I have found between this machine and my Freddy pin(thanks Jeff F), these damn annoying little black tabs used to hold playfiled plastics to each other, or dome caps to flashers, ect....

What are the best methods to remove/replace these tabs while working on these pins? The back sides of these are similar the the white tabs used to mount the boards in the backbox, only the black tabs have four prongs instead of two to deal with. I managed to get a few of these off and on while cleaning the Freddy, but between the amount of time and foul language used doing that one, I'm looking for a better method of attack.

Didn't know if there is a specific tool that will make this easier or not, but since I now have two machines with these, I'm looking at other options. Suggestions?

Hey brother, they make a special tool for it, it looks like an empty bic pen, Ol' TJ has one I believe...

From memory, (its been awhile) push the pin/rivet from the back side with your thumb and that will push the head up on the front side. Now grab the head and remove the pin/rivet, then you can push the base/female part out to seperate the plastics.

Installation is the opposite. Have fun getting the female part back in :)

those things are just like rivets, the center pin spreads the unit to keep it from coming out. I can usually take my fingernails (or small wire snips) and grip the head of the center pin and pry it up. Once you get it up the whole unit will slid out
