I bought a set of Gottlieb Genesis NOS ramps a few weeks ago. I have since been in contact with a plastic guy who thinks he can make some very nice repros of these ramps. I know this game is notorious for broken ramps, and was wondering who here would be interested. Time frame is as follows, he can start working on this on January 5th, he thinks they will be ready in 6-8 weeks. To cover my costs etc, each set will cost $125. Please let me know if you are interested. Once they go into production, I will take payment via paypal, and ship the ramps to you the second I get them.

Let me know if you have any questions:

Thanks!

I would be in for a set, are they going to be PETG plastic, original color etc?

very cool if you to take up this cause.

This will no doubt make some owners happy. and 125 for two ramps seems like a very fair price as well.

I think this is great. I don't own a Genesis, but every one I've worked on or seen has had broken ramps.

Now, a word of caution......You really should keep this on the "down-low". As soon as word gets out, you'll be receiving the cease & desist letters from Gottlieb, LLC's lawyers!

Sounds great guys, will everyone that is interested please send me an email directly at lapean111atgmaildotcom. Have the subject be Genesis Repro Ramps. This way I can get an official list going, and update via email. I am glad this is getting done.

If this website has taught anyone anything, you need to take pre-orders and get the money up front or at the very least a non refundable deposit of half the cost.
No offense to anyone stating "they're in" but history has proven that when it comes time to collect the chances are a high percentage of people will bow out and I'd hate to see that happen to you.

Also as Elutz stated - this is one licensed product that you need to keep on the down low.

Once I have the ok from the plastic guy, that is, he is confortable with how the repro turned out, then I will begin collecting money. This way I won't have to order more sets then people will actually pay for. Does that sound fair everyone?

How many times has this website also proven that putting your money in on preorders is just as risky?

One thing I would do, if I were you......

Get a set made and install them. Beat the hell out of them before you put a product out there. If they get them from you, guess who they will go to if they break......Yep.

Make sure you test them thoroughly before you sell to the masses.

I am not bashing the work of anyone, but I don't want to see you get inundated with "bad seller" posts if there is some flaw in the production that results in something wrong.

There are some things noone can control, and you have to prepare for that.

True to a point, however if the buyers pay via Paypal using a CREDIT CARD then no matter what happens they are assured at the very least to get their money back. I realize some people refuse to use Paypal so it's not a 100% solution either.

But I will comment about certain companies falling through on their "promises" that each buyer could've easily got their money back if they paid with Credit Card. A good mass chose to wait it out and hammer the seller instead of simply calling their CC company and getting a refund that way.

Hey guys, I am definatly going to wait to get the sample set before I start taking money. I honestly just want people to be able to enjoy their pinballs the way they were meant to be enjoyed. I know it sounds cheesy, but I'm serious. I plan on having a pinball party to let my friends loose on the Genesis with the repro ramps. If they hold up to that, they will hold up to anything.

BTW, finally got my 2 machines in the same place. Hopefully a TZ will be next to them sooner or later.
