For $150 I can get this machine. It turns on but will not turn over to play a game. Being a complete novice I have no idea what this means. Can it be a fuse or something that I can fix myself? Or?

It is a local machine so I am able to drive over to check it out. Any suggestions on what to look for would be great. Even if I have to pay someone a couple hundred dollars to fix it, I wouldn't mind.

BTW anyone that saw my Tommy thread...I didn't get it. :-(

Thanks!

If the cosmetics are good then $150 seems fair. Far Out\Out of Sight are typical Gottliebs with drop tagets of that era. As far as it not working it probably needs to be shopped.
It could be a bad relay, dirty or broken contact switch or multiple issues but ems are way cheaper to fix.

I had one of these (Out of Sight) many years ago; classic Gottlieb EM, with good drop target action.

$150 is cheap - if it's really clean, and was *recently* working, it may well be something easy.

If it's been sitting a while, it could be any number of things - but probably dirty contacts.

I wouldn't recommend *anybody* who describes themselves as a "novice" take on an EM pinball as a first project, unless you're mechanically inclined otherwise, and have a ton of patience and time to learn how an EM pinball works. I've seen way too many people pick these up only to have them sit for years untouched because they have no idea where to start.

They're indeed cheap to fix (typically just takes a ton of cleaning), but if you have to pay for somebody else to fix it, even $150 can end up expensive in the long run.

My 2 cents..
