so, how often should a bell ding when you get points? all the time, or only on certain stuff? the reason i ask is because in my captain kidd, it only dings when you get an advance or hit a 50 pt ramp at the top. however, playing a few older gottlieb em's over the weekend (late 60's early 70's, where mine is 1960) i notice the bell dings on any target you hit pretty much.

so, anyone have any ideas, and if it should be ringing more often, what i should be looking at mechanically to fix it?

Depends on the game. You would have to take a look at the schematic to see if a bell should be sounding for a given target.

allright, i will check. i don't have a scat as of now, still need to see if steve young has one.

as far as the chime, it is a single chime game. what switches would typically trigger the chime?

well, i'm gonna make a new law called jim's law. and it basically means check shit before asking questions to simple solutions. and i say this cause the plunger on the coil for the chime was wicked dirty causing it to hang up.

Don't forget Glenn's law Go through and adjust and clean EVERYTHING and you'll take care of 99% of your issues with these EM machines. If your going to spot shop the machine you'll drive yourself nuts with little problems.
