I've been working on the Buck Rogers off and on for about 8 months now and I think I'm close to being finished with it. Right now I'm having an issue that I need some help with. I'm using a new driver board, power supply, and Pascal's PI-1 MPU. To get the game to run normally I have to hold the start button in or the game goes nuts. As soon as I let off of the start button the games starts making random sounds and the displays go to tilt after a few minutes, It's like its constantly restarting. I've gone through the switch matrix and checked all of the diodes and the continuity from the MPU to the switches. I'm now to the point where I'm out of ideas.

So, does anyone know what might be causing this annoying issue? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not at all familiar with that machine, however if you bypass that switch and wire something extra into the board set instead (momentary switch or two wires you can flick together real quick) does the issue still happen?
If not then either a bad diode, a grounded wire would be my uneducated guess.

I'll try the momentary switch and check the ground tonight. I know the diode is good because I replaced it last night and have checked it again. Thanks for the advice.

First off, congrats on using a PI-1. That's the best thing that's ever happened to Gottliebs.

My advice would be to check the cable connections. On Gottlieb system 1s the most common cause of just about anything going wrong are connectors. If you have the time, go through an re-pin the connectors..

All connectors have been re-pinned. That was the first thing I did when I picked this machine up.
